If you like your current rig but want more out of it and wouldn't mind paying some extra dollars to be on the way for 64-bit or continue 32-bit computing then here is an excellent guide that'll help out: Anandtechs' Buyer's Guide for March 2005. The guide gives a nice estimation of prices for building a budget system. Choose from AGP or PCI-Express; AMD or Intel processors; to Nvidia or ATI video cards. The guide is extremely helpful even if you may not follow it thoroughly (used a similar guide from Anandtech back in late 2004). Recommendation: choose the path to 64-bit as Windows XP-64 is due to arrive in a few months, "It's time." I have chosen to go 64-bit thanks to AMD [specs in forums].
